Auum is proud to announce its collaboration with Siemens. Both companies share their respective expertise to promote innovation and sustainability.

Siemens provides all its know-how to enable Auum to optimise its industrial tool and cleaning technology.

With the deployment of its innovative cleaning solution, Auum actively contributes to waste reduction and water savings at Siemens sites across Europe.

Founded in 2019, Auum, an acronym for "Arrêtons l'Usage Unique Maintenant" (Let's End Single Use Now), is on a mission to help companies eliminate the 5 billion disposable cups still consumed in France each year. After 3 years of research and development, Auum launched the auum-S in 2021. This cleaning solution is now the most sustainable on the market. It cleans, disinfects and dries a glass in 20 seconds using only 10cl of water and no chemicals. With Auum, reuse becomes as easy and quick as disposable.

In addition to the user-friendly aspect of this technology, Auum aimed to provide an economically accessible alternative to disposable cups, which has faced challenges following the implementation of the Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy (AGEC) law. The solution has convinced nearly 300 B2B customers, including almost half of the CAC 40 companies, such as Total Energies, Kering, L'Oréal, ENGIE, Saint-Gobain, Boursorama and Air Liquide.

The Collaboration between Auum and Siemens

Auum and Siemens are proud to announce the results of their recent collaboration. Both companies share their knowledge and expertise in using technology to develop innovative and sustainable solutions. Auum helps Siemens to define its CSR roadmap and in return Siemens supports Auum's growth by providing technological expertise.

Supporting reindustrialisation in France

By working with this industrial start-up, Siemens is reaffirming its desire to support reindustrialisation in France and putting its innovation expertise at the service of ecological transition.

Through this collaboration, Auum will benefit from Siemens' experience to optimise its industrial tool and ultimately reduce the environmental impact of its activity. To this end, Siemens is providing solutions from the Siemens Xcelerator industrial software portfolio - including the Solid Edge® mechanical engineering software and the Simcenter™ STAR-CCM+™ computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software - to help Auum optimise its technology and create the digital twin of its production area.

Clément Houllier, CEO, and co-founder of Auum says: "I am very proud to be able to work hand in hand with a group of this size and support them in a zero-waste initiative in France and Europe. I know that the support of Siemens in all our digital tools in research and development and in production is the key to our scaling up".

Supporting large companies in their CSR policies

For its part, the start-up is supporting Siemens' CSR policy by deploying its innovative and ecological cleaning solution at three of the group's sites in Toulouse, La Défense and Châtillon. In doing so, Auum enables Siemens to significantly reduce the amount of waste produced and to save water on the sites equipped. Discussions are underway to extend this solution to new sites in Europe in 2024.

"All industrial and technological innovations are supported by the use of digitalisation solutions. To accelerate the convergence towards an optimised and compliant product, Auum has chosen solutions from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio. These solutions, which cover a broad spectrum, will allow us to support the start-up in its various development phases: innovation, industrialisation and optimisation. The collaboration with Auum is accompanied by the deployment of the auum-S within the Siemens offices in France as part of our CSR policy." says Jean-Marie Saint-Paul, General Manager of Siemens Digital Industries Automation and Software France.

Doris Birkhofer, President of Siemens France, adds: "At Siemens France, we believe in the power of the ecosystem to find concrete solutions to society's major challenges. We support start-ups throughout their lifecycle and help our 100% French treasures to scale up. As a leader in technology, we use digitalisation and our innovative technologies to provide solutions to the challenges of reindustrialising France and making businesses more competitive, while addressing the challenges of sustainable development. In this respect, we are proud to contribute to the growth of AUUM, which is tackling the challenge of zero waste and contributing to the development of the circular economy”.

This collaboration is a shining example of how alliances between start-ups and large corporations can create powerful synergies that drive innovation and sustainability to new heights.
